This Amazonian sums it up better than I can:

"How many groups release consistently high quality albums over a 30 year period? How many produce their best album at the end of that 30-year period? Certainly not Yes, Genesis et al.

Step forward Pendragon with the best album of 2008 (IMHO). The album definetely has a harder sound (but it is hardly metal!!) The whole band, including new drummer Scott Higham, are in top form - so many fresh ideas. The guitar work is superb - really expressive - from delicate to aggressive riffing - very emotive solos. Every track is excellent - the quality just isn't allowed to drop"

Notice at 2:10 another band just setting up in the stage background.

When The Beatles were not The Beatles yet.

Shawn Mullins, Soul's Core, one of those albums that makes me so grateful to be lucky enough to have my system. Wonderful music that feeds the soul and, as an added bonus, it sounds fantastic, and to top it off it has a great soundstage.  flac via audirvana/hugo

The Whos Tommy - my first ever rock LP (4th ever after Mary Poppins, chitty chitty bang bang, and Elvis That's The Way It is) Saved for ages to buy It, and still think it's wonderful.

...but on the Rega at the moment is this one -- a classic. "Paris 1919" is such a great song.

All the horn players I knew in college said he didn't exactly have great chops, but they loved him anyway.

I heard "Johnny and Mary" for the first time on World Cafe, a (US) National Public Radio show based out of WXPN in Philadelphia. The host didn't say it was Robert Palmer -- and in all candor, my first thought was: "holy shit, some kid in Brooklyn just cut an amazing record."

One of the things that interests me most about Robert Palmer was his Bowie-like way of working with either the best musicians of the time, or some of the most cutting-edge. (The backing band on Palmer's first record was the Meters, FFS.) On "Clues", Gary Numan and Chris Frantz of the Talking Heads lend a hand -- the result, in my view, is one of those rare occasions when an established musician actually contributes to an emerging musical style, rather than serving up some hollow mimicry.

A final thought: am I alone in wanting to be half as cool as Robert Palmer was in the "Addicted to Love" video?

Don't know how to describe this music properfull. Strange instrumentation a, powerful, a jazzy kind of feel to it.., but nit really jazz...., one thing for sure it's quite enjoyable..

A fresh new interpretation of a piano trio...

Just arrived, in the post. On the CDX2 right now.

Extra- ordinary.... Better than the Genesis originals.....?  Quite possibly.

Why did I hesitate to buy this...? Have order the first Genesis Revisited CD immediately, on the strength of the first track of this one.

Enjoy...    Thank you, Steve....

New Order, new LP Music Complete (out today) on hi-res download. I ordered the deluxe box set which won't be delivered for a few weeks, but got a free download as part of the package.

Halfway through it now, and despite the lack of Hooky - and against expectations - it's really, really good. Their best album since Republic and maybe even Technique. Fantastic synths. Welcome back Gillian! Super cover by Peter Saville too. It's just like the old days.

You may want to check out the live version Genesis Revisited: Live at Hammersmith as well. I saw the show in Paradiso earlier in the tour and the DVD that is included in the live cd box set gives a good impression of the live performance
