From recommendations on the forum; a truly beautiful piece of music.

Listening to Vocabularies Dom Bobby McFerrin - great result from dubbing his own voice a couple of times.

As I glanced out of the train window on my commute into the office today and noticed the chimneys undergoing refurbishment I thought I must give Animals a spin this evening.  This is the 'Discovery' CD version.  Not one of Floyd's most prominent albums but I've always enjoyed it.

180gm recent reissue.... Absolutely epic!

Might need to re-string the air guitar in the morning!

I love Stan Tracey's music. This is a very fine live album, from late in his career.

Hmm. Think I'll give my CD version a spin, Churchill and all.

Best start to any album I've ever heard....  Although I might be a tad biased....

Enjoy

Tangle Edge    "Eulogy"   on c.d.

first released in 1992 on Demi Monde label. Totally instrumental and sounds like some riffs were 'borrowed' from King Crimson, also reminds me, possibly of Hawkwind.

But one of their best imo

Lamb - Lamb (1996)

One of my favourite bands and albums.  A mix of electronica / trip hop / drum & bass / jazz, coupled with the unique vocal style of Lou Rhodes, excellent upright bass from Jon Thorne and production by Andy Barlow.

"Focus was released in 1961 and was a commission made by Getz for Eddie Sauter. Sauter was already an accomplished composer and arranger at this time, and Getz was well known in the Jazz scene, not yet reaching his Bossa Nova fame. For this recording Stan was given no music, no melodies, and no chord changes. Before the recording date Sauter gave Getz the early recordings of the string parts and Stan was meant to come in on the date and improvise. This album is viewed by many as the high point in both of their careers."

Apart from some surface noise crackle which is putting up a better show than my log fire, there is nothing to not like here. Mostly mellow going fair with no feroce windy piping to disturb the cats from their armchair slumber.

Pink Floyd. Pulse. 2 CD set from 1995. Inspired by several posts of this the past few days. A wonderful musical performance and, given the amount of pre-recorded material to be synchronized into a live show, an impressive technical production. Reportedly, some edits from other live shows were inserted, but no studio edits were made. Would loved to have been there.
