A rare programme of arias by Alessandro Scarlatti. This is one composer who can sound exceedingly samey so a full album of arias might not be an immediate attraction, but the program has been put together with care - and Watts outdoes herself here, singing with gusto and beauty.

Rather lovely to listen to on this fine sunny morning with the sun splitting the blue sky.

Pre-ordered the vinyl from Bandcamp (on the way) and the 24/88 flac was released today.
Beautiful job by 80 hertz studio, perfect soundtrack to a blue sky morning

Album cover: Into Forever by Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra

One of my favourite bands discovered last year on Bandcamp, this electro-acoustic duo play an ever evolving mix of swamptronica, Americana, blues and bluegrass style. Someone called it a worldly style of back porch blues and electro-Americana goodness, I think they are right.

On 200g vinyl. I'm playing this as I have a friend round who is very skeptical as to the merits of vinyl.

He seems to be moderating his opinion somewhat, and we're still not on Side 2 yet.

Side 1 of this excellent double album...Vinyl

FACT 14, The Return of The Durutti Column, UK first press from 1979. In the sandpaper cover. One of the best albums ever made.

Funny cover, but great music...

Volume 3 of this remarkable series is just as revelatory as the preceding discs.

Simply great rock music that sounds as good today (to me) as it did forty odd years ago.

To be honest I am only just getting in to Rush. This for me is the first album by them. Really enjoying what I am hearing at the moment though

Oh you have so much great music to listen to and each album is so different from the one before. Power Windows is the best of its era for me but you may want to try Moving Pictures, 2112, and Signals from a little earlier as start point.  Enjoy.

Wife has this vinyl, haven't got to cleaning it yet...out of inner sleeves, but I will soon.

One of the best debut albums ever in my opinion, along with Appetite for Destruction and others

This is my favourite Rush album, particularly like Middletown Dreams.

I listen to 36bit Vinyl.
