J.J Cale "Anyway the wind blow" -  The Anthology.

Another artist I became interested in after seeing so many glowing reviews of his albums in this thread. A compilation of his most popular songs is how far I'm willing to delve into it. It's good but I suspect I'm not going to become his most ardent fan.

Never mind Bach, we all need a bit of ABC....

Kings of Leon, Only By The Night, this is a fantastic album and one that is rapidly becoming a favourite..  Great rock music that is deceptively musical and really gets the fingers tapping.  Flac via Audirvana/hugo

Teaching myself how to play the title track on guitar, including a bastardized version of the piano intro...

Should say trying to teach myself...

A great sounding collection of ballads from various Mapleshade recordings.

Foxboro Hot Tubs. Stop Drop And Roll!!!. On CD from 2008. It's loud and in your face, bit it's Green Day so the music is fast and powerful, and the album rocks.

A lively start to Friday!

A great album of interplay..

Very sensitive playing, good music to relax...

Mudcrutch. The "audiophile" CD included with the 2LP release from 2008. Mudcrutch is Tom Petty's original band, reunited 32 years later for this album. Brilliant Petty music with a strong southern rock bend that drifts into a lazy psychedelic sound on the track "Crystal River". The vinyl is an all analog production and the CD is mastered sans loudness. SQ is top notch, highly recommended for even a marginal Petty fan.

Vivaldi: Recorder Concertos: Erik Bosgraaf  2009 recording.

Over the years excessive exposure to Vivaldi's 4 seasons drove me away from his catalogue in general. Baroque is entirely uncharted territory for me.

Stravinsky quipped Vivaldi did not compose 400 concerts but he rewrote the same tunes 400 times over, I sort of think he's got a point.

I am starting with his smaller concertos with oboe and recorder. Giving a wider variety from keyboard and violin.

(2000)

A very pleasant mix of lute music (some vocally accompanied) through the ages.

'The cd is a sampler of O'Dette's recordings with the label Harmonia Mundi ranging from solo lute pieces to vocal ensembles. However, the mixture of the 22 tracks over 72 minutes becomes a fantastic musical and emotional journey. I quickly became attached to the album. Fantastic! This music and the performances of O'Dette have taken on a life of their own. It is a beautiful album that I would highly recommend to anybody that has a love for the lute as well as the music of the 15th-17th centuries'. - An Amazonian

Just listen to Bach and Rzewski. The Bach was as expected after listening to the Patitas. Quite good but do not thnk ist could be my favorit.

The Rzwewks seams to be the only alternative to Hamelin to be consider.

But for a "protest" my first impression is still that Hamelin is my favorit.

But havn't listen to Hamelin for a long time.

Will do a comparison.

Sheryl Crow. The Globe Sessions. On CD from 1998. I find I don't have many female solo artists in my library, but Crow is a rather gifted tunesmith and delivers her songs with passion and vocals befitting the music. The fact that she's 'hot' just adds to the listening experience for me.

Thank you Joe for reminding me to get a copy of this.  I have just purchased the double vinyl + CD.
