(1967)

Listened to a few days ago via Deezer Elite, this Iconoclastic Records / Liberty Label CD arrived today through the post today. Perhaps one of those rare remasters that are a noticeable improvement upon the original.

Original double vinyl, pulled at random from the shelves:

Excellent. Sounds almost like it could from the B-side of Low.... instead (as you probably know?) it was used in a sake advert...

(I'd buy it, fo sho)

Cheers! Or even... kanpai!

Indeed. It's a great piece that deserved wider exposure.

A little '70s prog.

Much more lively than some of her albums, this is really very good. Just right for a Friday evening.

Posted on: 16 October 2015 by MDS

Bit of Phil Collins to begin the evening. Hard to believe this album is over 30 years old.

Nice one, Steve. My Room is one hell of a track and that sax solo used to send chills down my spine. One of my favourite bands of all time.

My Room just about to come on Tony.

Still life was so good I thought I'd play this earlier album.

You know you gonna have to listen to Godbluff now and The Undercover Man to complete the trilogy of their best albums, don't you?
Posted on: 16 October 2015 by Steve J

I'll probably do that over the weekend Tony.

(Probably not for tired and emotional mono-theists)

Pink Floyd, Division Bell on CD. took it off the rack and dusted it off! Another CD not played for a long time. I find I am re-visiting so much music lately and loving it, The Naim effect?

The Raconteurs, Consolers of the Lonely on CD. Really enjoying this album. Jack Whites projects have the same flovours but taste very different.

IIRC it was released here in the UK as the B-side of the "Up The Hill Backwards" 7" single in early '81. For me the main attraction was that beautiful sleeve. If I had the money I would collect more of them, they are just lovely objects.

The Aulos Ensemble: Vivaldi 12 Concerti 1989 release

Finally I am getting somewhere with Vivaldi tunes.

Recorder is replaced with flute on this set so it has a cheerer more contemporary outlook. Strings also have a warmer tone and oboe comes through nice giving the midrange a warmer cast. Lively and dynamic, captivating performance that pulls me right in.

Hi kuma, Yeah, I've somehow seen a few of the wackier Japanese commercials with A-listers like DiCaprio and Madonna. I just had a look for DB's, and it's tame by comparison...

Kevin, very true, all that I've seen look great. The one I was listening to belongs to my brother. Another good one he has, that's another (German?) import...

Cool as.
