Isn't that just an excellent set of albums? The consistent quality of her songwriting is breathtaking.

Yes agreed Ragman. They had some excellent albums back then.

I Love this, one of the best Prog Albums ever. IMHO.

On 45rpm ,180gm vinyl. It sounded a bit  wrong in the treble even after running the first side with not switched to an output, but it was better on the second side. Nice and flat and quiet.

Reliving the sounds of my teenage years.  I started buying Kyung-Wha Chung recordings when I was introduced to the violin in the mid 70s. Followed by collecting all the original 33s that Heifetz made.

These two now on CD and ripped onto my NAS.  The vinyl is next door on shelves.

If I had to take one, it would be Kyung-Wha Chung and the LSO.  Newer recording and the exotic orchestration comes through so much better.  Of course, without Heifetz there'd be no Walton Violin Concerto. The original vinyl may sound better than this re-issue.

War: Can't We be Friends?  1975 release

A bit noisy paper thin original LP complete with a colour poster. ( I have never heard a completely quiet United Artists vinyl from the Oil Crisis era )

The sound, however, is just glorious. Super dynamic with natural voices and instrument colours. I would dare any current release that matches the sound of this recording.

The album contains heir hit 'Lower Rider' but my fave is this groovy 'Smile Happy'

I am not sure about Chung's Decca original pressing but there is a greater possibility a newer remaster could be better sounding than Heifetz's original RCA LP.

Who did the remastering and is it still in mono or  *fake* stereo?

Leon Ware : Inside is Love 1979 release

He's not a quite a house hold name but he's one of my favourite R&B funk composer as well as a producer who wrote for Donnie Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Minnie Ripperton, Milissa Manchester, Maxwell, Quincy Jones etc.. Gaye's 'I want you' is a typical of Leon Ware sound.

Bach Brandenburg Concerti : Kehr/Mainz Chamber Orchestra  1958 recording

For some reasons, I am not liking them as much as their No.3 & 4 which are by far their best.

1st serious listen...

While a nice open piano sound in these remasters, also quite some noise which is audible in the silent passages, so not ink dark......
