Nothing like some banging techno for a quiet Sunday evening...
^ I never knew a MacBook Pro was capable of such sounds.
You've got the bangin, but what about the Nish, Clish?

Airbag's lead vocalist on his very good solo debut.
Winding down with Claude Speeed*...
Starts out kind of grainy and closed-in...
Before closing out with some epic widescreen visions...

Dionne Warwick: Here I am 1966 release
Typical dreamy easy going Bacharach arrangement serves very early Dionne sounding like a child but her intonation and delivery is very much Dionne.
Dionne Warwick: Very Dionne 1970 Release
Her voice already starts to fill in and has a warm cast.
The strongest pieces are Bacharach/David tunes much better than Beatles and Carpenter covers included in this album.
Dionne Warwick: The Greatest Hits 1970-1990
Her biggest come back was Barry Manilow produced album *Dionne* in 1979 containing Grammy winning 'Deja Vu' & 'I'll Never Love This Way Again'. I recall these ultra polished synthetic sounding power ballads were everywhere. I still have a soft spot for Isaac Hayes written Deja Vu's down tempo groove tho.
I have to admit that 'that's what friends are for' are pretty nauseating as I remember. :/
Earlier this evening:

Not as good as their 2012 debut album so I never bought the CD but it is good for an occasional listen and Deezer Elite is providing that this morning.

200 Tons OF Bad Luck ~ Crippled Black Phoenix
I have enjoyed a few of their albums, Whte Light Generator and I Vigilante being notably good, so I am giving this one a try.

Linn records 45rpm Supercut.
I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has this as I have had two copies and both have quite bad surface noise. Shame because the SQ is fantastic!
Mine is "on the way" and currently bouncing around or getting crushed in some courier plane or delivery truck. Hopefully I'll have mine in a few days and will report back.
Thanks Florestan, look forward to your findings.
Andy.
Andy, mine arrived yesterday and playing it currently. Uncleaned, other than some minor static on the second track, mine is perfect. No surface noise that I can detect. In fact, this is an exceptional example of vinyl in my opinion.
What is not exceptional is that I cannot seem to get vinyl delivered to me with some sort of damage. The last three of five albums in the last two weeks, including this one, arrived with a corner bent over along the circumference of the record. I am so tired of returning things like this and am worn down enough just to leave it. These cases were not shipping damage but almost certainly just poor handling by pin head persons that love their jobs and show it by rough handling and dropping them etc.
I will certainly keep this one, bent corner and all, as I don't want to take a chance and receive a less perfect piece of vinyl.
I hope you can end your unlucky streak as well. The third time's the charm, maybe?
Doug
Thanks for getting back to me Doug.
Sorry to hear that the delivery of your vinyl was so poor and the resulting condition of the record cover.
Interesting to hear you have no surface noise on your copy as I sent my first copy back to Linn for them to test.
They said it was comparable to the other copies they tried and this was acceptable. I got them to send me a second sealed copy but it is as bad as the first so I have to put up with it!
Glad to hear that at least your vinyl is perfect.
Thanks again,
Andy.
Andy, it is possibly my cloth ears that I can't hear to well anymore. I was expecting worse but just comparing to much of my other vinyl (where I do hear surface noise and the snap, crackle, pop) I honestly felt this copy had near zero noise and comparable to the best vinyl I have. I was really surprised by this.
Poulenc's concerto for two pianos has some nice passages but comes a cross as a lighthearted romp that lacks focus. The performance is workmanlike - for the collector only.

Catchy, foot tapping Canadian blues rock fronted by the excellent vocals of Colleen Rennison.
Quite a line up on this album including George Harrison, Stevie Winwood, Ron Wood and Mick Fleetwood, among others.

This is no cheesy opportunistic rip off of NCC, it is a true tribute from a man who grew up wanting to sound like him. Beautifully produced, great sound quality and very well put together, totally recommended.
