Never been been into classical music, but every now and then I pull out something - like this one. I must admit it's wonderful to listen to!

Vivaldi: Glorias / Dixit Dominus / Magnificat / Beatus Vir

1st run, looks more like world music than jazz, still quite good...

Doug,

I guess I am lucky to live in an area that has at least 5 record stores that I can visit as well as online resources.

This was a lucky find at one of my favourite record store that I frequent.

I like the way he describes 'audiophiles* in the video.

They carry very little classical vinyl compared to Indy/Rock/Pop titles they sell. But he does get some interesting ones from time to time.

"told him not to fall in love, with this city....city..."

Fortunately, I did not take the lady vocalists advice, and I fell in love, with City. My wife and I saw Stuart, and his drummer, Richard Spaven, at Leeds College of Music, earlier this month. We couldn't make it to one of his evening gigs, but this afternoon guitar/drum clinic, Q/A session, more than made up for this.  We were hit right in the chest, straight away, by Richards, drumming. He explained how he uses "broken Beats" from Hip Hop, which until now, has had no place in our music collection.

At the moment Richard seems to be trying to tie down Stuarts relatively loose style, to click tracks. "Clicks and broken beats" are Richards thing at the moment, and the interplay between the two is fascinating. This album will test your PRAT, to the limit, for sure.

Stuart just goes on doing his wonderful multi FX guitar thing, without trying to take Richard, too seriously. I was a bit skeptical at first, but this very innovative approach soon won me over and, I now think, I love this album, even more the Stuarts, Distilled, and Distilled Live.

Percussion, will never be the same for me.

We bought City, in both LP (with HD download code) and CD format, from Stuart after the session.

For jriver users, try it with the album cover 3D visualisations, you'll know which one when you see it!

Why not try it? 24 bit and LP are best. http://www.naimlabel.com/artist-stuart-mccallum.aspx

Recommend to to me by my son, Tidal is obliging - The Growlers, Chinese Fountain.

I was taking to my youngest daughter about Lennon's quip about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus, which is strange as it comes up in one of the tracks here.

Listening to David Bowie's "Lets Dance". It may not be the first choice with his biggest fans, but I have always enjoyed this album.
