(2013)

Another superb tantalising EP length taster from Plini, but after three 15 minute EPs are we ever going to get a full sized album?

Fast paced and expertly composed, the only complaint that can be had with this EP is that it's over too soon. "Opening" and "Sweet Nothings" are the highlights thanks to some riveting guitar riffs. -  A Bandcamper

The new one on Rune Gramoffon from the Espen Eriksen Trio....Never Ending January - perfect music for a winter evening

and earlier this album of works by Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm...

On vinyl, a little bit digital sounding but the live feel and great playing more than makes up.

Hi-res download - Savoy Brown - "Blue Matter"

and followed by (courtesy of TIDAL) a couple of SB albums I don't yet own:

Savoy Brown - "Goin' to the Delta"

and also by Savoy Brown - "Hellbound train"

Simply fantastic Blues music. I just don't understand how I missed out on them as a student back in the 70s.

This is a new acquisition, and it's simply wonderful and rather poignant since neither player is with us any more. They play together with such intuition.

Agreed, they are taking ages. Not very professional imho. But then it could be worse in a different way...Halcro launched their website months ago but they don't have a product to sell yet???

The Sacred Shakers - The Sacred Shakers

(2008) CD

Old time gospel music.  I took a flyer on their live album, The Sacred Shakers - Live, and enjoyed it.  First listen.  The group is comprised of what appears to be a rotating collection of members from the Boston, MA area.

What they lack in album title creativity they make up for in their performance. Very enjoyable if you like this country and blues influenced gospel music.

Now:   The Dave Rawlings Machine - Nashville Obsolete

(2015) CD

Only 2nd time able to listen to this since i got it a few weeks ago.  It has clicked right away for me and a good album.

Rainy day, and this just fits in with a relaxing afternoon.

Birds And Buildings - "From Bantam To Behemoth".

Scanning the Progarchives site I spotted a recommendation in the 'Eclectic' section. Luckily this album (their first) is available as an inexpensive download from Bandcamp. I'm only 5 tracks in but can recommend it wholeheartedly. Vocals are not very distinctive but the music and musicianship is very refreshing.

Started playing a CD rip of this album, which I haven't listened to in a while, and thought it sounded flat. Putting the LP I bought in the '70s on the LP12 soon sorted the problem.

Bought this for Bachianas Brasilieras No.5.

A little disappointed with the No.5 but the rest of the album is excellent.
