Smetana String Quartes No.1 & 2 : Panocha Quartet 1989 recording
New work for me and I am just taking it all in.
Dramatic opening with full of termoil. Rich tonal palette and romantic it has a similar intimate disposition as Brahms.
Very special almost hypnotic style...
When you limit things to the essentials you get sometimes to amazing results. Acoustic sets are very often a revelation. In this case I also like very much the results.....
As fresh as years back, timeless....
Very different from the earlier work, but still very enjoyable....

A band that I have discovered very late on but getting to enjoy a great deal. Tying out one of their very early ones, this was their second album.

Some time ago, someone on this forum (I can't remember who it was) posted a link to a piece of music from this album. Now, thanks to TIDAL, I am able to play the album in its entirety.
Simply beautiful music! Although this, and classical music as a whole, is not my normal genre of choice, I could listen to this album all day long.
Thanks to whoever it was who provided the link.
Perfect antidote to this rather grey autumnal day via my mobile setup.
Still a great album. I still remember buying my first copy on Vinyl from Woolworths.
This is the 45th Anniversary boxset. I have listened to the Max's live CD, which I had never heard before (but there are more tracks on the double CD version). This is in better quality than I expected, but the live at the Second Fret, which again I had not heard, is very poor SQ - apparently it has been issued as of historical significance. I am now listening to the remastered version of the original album and I am not sure about it - it's quite different to what I am used to. It's also worth noting that nearly all the additional demos and alternate takes are available on the Fully Loaded double CD.
