It's a really good blues album Graham. I wish I had it on vinyl, this one slipped by me in the past.

I have just booked tickets for his concert in which he first plays the traditional Vivaldi four seasons and then the re-compose one, should be an interesting experience on one evening.....

Scanning the Progarchives site I spotted a recommendation in the 'Eclectic' section. Luckily this album (their first) is available as an inexpensive download from Bandcamp. I'm only 5 tracks in but can recommend it wholeheartedly. Vocals are not very distinctive but the music and musicianship is very refreshing.

Joining you in this one, streaming direct from Bandcamp and enjoying it.

Wayne Shorter: Speak No Evil  1964 Recording  Stereo

  • Wayne Shorter — tenor saxophone
  • Freddie Hubbard — trumpet
  • Herbie Hancock — piano
  • Ron Carter — double bass
  • Elvin Jones — drums

This entire album has a blue tint like its cover and a bit challenging to digest. All original by Shorter.

My fave is Sibelius Valse Triste like 'Waltz Cadaverous' and the title tune.

Kirk Whalum : Promise 1989 Release

Many of the tunes on here had a heavy radio play on WNUA ( smooth jazz station ) during the 90s. I vaguely recall them as background music during the office hours.
