Van Halen : 1984

I certainly don't need 4 copies of this...:/

Great cover art, tho.

Jackson Browne. For Every Man (1973). On re-issue vinyl from 1990. Jackson's second LP, his vocals are not yet developed with the command of later albums, but his gift for creating a relaxed and soothing dynamic to his music is evident.

At the start of his recording career with Hyperion, Demidenko landed praise everywhere. By the time of this Schumann recital, he had become more personal in approach and of course the critics reacted in the opposite direction. Nevertheless, these are some of the finest recordings of these Schumann sonatas in my collection. SQ is good; a bit thin, but the large, metallic grand is given more acoustic than Hyperion currently affords its pianists.

From Tidal, a couple of RUSH albums:-  Moving Pictures followed by Power Windows.

Unfortunately recent Tidal use has been spoilt by glitches and pauses in the flow. This is the main reason this format won't work for me it drives me made, admittedlt it won't take much.

This is interesting; Eska new on the Naim Label;

“I can’t remember when I last heard anything this enchanting or inventive. Her array of reggae, jazz, soul, choral, electronica, folk and classical influences collide to create a sound that is hers alone.” THE GUARDIAN

Playing this to compare with the Melvyn Taylor album. Both do covers of Voodoo Chile. I think I prefer the Melvyn Taylor effort.

Life, Death, Love And Freedom

The Mellancamp sound stripped back to its bare bones, excellent lyrics and great production from T Bone Burnett makes for a stunning album.
