Yep, super album Mike I was listening to some various early Genesis just the other day. I still think that their Definitive Edition remasters are the ones to go for.

Yes, Steve. This CD on the Virgin label is one of those.

I'm always slightly wary of bassless quartets, but these guys are an exception. This album, like the predecessor Blue Pepper, is great. If this doesn't get the old toes tapping, nothing will.

I've not played this LP in a while. I clearly remember buying this in 1971 on a visit to my grandmother in Manchester age 15.

My word, this lady has a beautiful voice.

Haim, you had to post this - one of my favourite albums.  I should be sitting at the piano practicing my Beethoven at the moment with a rehearsal only a couple hours away and now I have this Franck on my mind.  There is just too much good music in this world and not enough time.

Might as well continue on with the Piano Quintet.

Hmm, that sounds good. It's a new one on me, so I'll have to take your word for it.  Only £7.38 from All Your Music and should be here by then of the month. It's great to try something completely new.

Bill Withers: Still Bill 1972 release

Contains his big hit ' Lean on Me' as well as 'Use Me'.

Kai Winding: Rainy Day 1965 Release

I admit sometimes I buy records based on the cover and this was one of them.

Winding has played with Stan Kenton, Miles Davis etc and this was Van Gelder recording first pressing.

So how bad could it be?

The nicest thing I can say about this record is it is indeed sounds great and now *kitsch* but the tunes are all reminiscent of 60s Game Show Theme songs. :/

It's like a gag record now except that they were serious.

Helmut Walcha Plays Bach: 1962-64 Recording

Recorded in Holland, this Schnitger organ has leaner upward tilted tonal balance than Silbermann organ. Possible that the organ was tuned in a different pitch.

His Toccata & Fugue BWV565 is lighter touch and less rubato applied than my Halloween fave Brigg's. Less thearical but more of keyboard vertuoso display. A lot more textures are coming through in the midrange due to lighter pedal. Right hand is clear and open with better separation of notes. No excessive rubato but he builds excitement with excellent rhythmic pulse and clarity of melody he delivers. Nothing gets muddy or jumbled.

Green Day. Warning: (2000). On coke bottle green vinyl from 2014. A nice jump in SQ from CD to the vinyl. Highly recommended if you're a fan of Green Day and have a TT.

Lynyrd Skynyrd. Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nerd (1973). On MCA rainbow label vinyl from 1975. It amuses me that a group of good ol' southern boys seemed concerned with phonetics when selecting their debut album title. Wonderful debut it is.

Just a shame that this "soundtrack" (with the exception of Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman) does not in fact use all the original cast members voices who in my view were far better than the celebs' used for this. A pity.

On ripped CD. A gentle, rather sad album.
