Ernestine Anderson ; Big City
This must be one of the most swingin' albums ever made. Ernestine's timing is perfect and the rhythm section with Hank Jones, Monty Budwig and Jeff Hamilton is killing.
No reason. Just a whim.

This new release far exceeds my expectations for SQ and the music rocks.
Excellent. Just happened to see this on Amazon the other day. Looking forward to listening to it.

Jimi Hendrix 'Nine to the Universe' vinyl LP, part of the 1980 box set. Simply because I haven't played it for a very long time.
Hi Ewemon,
Nice packaging. Impressions on the music? Waiting somewhat patiently for my order to arrive. I decided to get the complete 3 day set.
I felt like was picking upgrade options for a car. I decided this was my limit though. No 30 Trips USB for me.

Weekends are usually the only time I get to really listen to these multi-cd sets in their entirety.
Today's is Grateful Dead - Europe '72: The Complete Recordings.
Show 12
Olympia Theatre - Paris, France 5/4/72
4 CDs, HDCD.
Superb acoustic blues album.
On CD:-
Bob Dylan - Saved
C.
A friend, who is also a Ray Lamontagne fan, loaned me this CD but warned that compared to his earlier albums it was disappointing, the reproduction quality being very disappointing (on the Sony label). He was right. I can't recommend this.
Mike
CD2 - superb live Floyd.
1st run...
1st run...
Like what I hear. Swings in some songs really nicely....
I noticed someone on here (might have been Tony2011) giving this a play recently and it's prompted me to dig out my copy. Sounds pretty good, too.

Just wanted to listen to some older Marillion less familiar to me.
Interesting new jazz...
This just gets better and better, the more I play it.

Something relaxing for the end of the day.
Bobby Womack: The Poet II 1984 release
From the album cover art, I was expecting some cheezy 80s synth. pop but not at all. Many tunes are hugely gospel influenced with powerful voice of Patti Labelle, the album is filled with funky power ballad in a striding tempo.
Ends with a tune called 'American Dream' with the voice clip from Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speech under over Womack's soulful voice.

In the end though, I can see a need for having multiple copies as I'm sure I'll wear this out.
Now, I only can't wait to see what our Mr. Alexander Tharaud will do with these Goldberg's and whether the vinyl will be as glorious?
Doug,
Thanks for your report. I've got my copy last week but haven't had a chance to listen. I don't know what other version you are talking about but Razor & Tie is the same as the import version Sony reissue sourced from the analogue tape. Razor & Tie distributed copy in the US is priced at 30$.
Last week, I also scored Helmut Walcha & Silvia Marlowe's Goldberg Variations so I am going to add to the mix with Tharaud's new set.
I agree with you on that I prefer Gould's '81 reading over his trail blazing '55 set.

He sure has evolved from his Strong R&B influenced debut album for sure. An artist never stays put in one place.
Tears of a Clown is just one of the best pop tunes ever...
