One of my favourite Supertramp albums, along with CotC.  Having updated the firmware on the nDAC earlier today I'm very pleasantly surprised to be hearing things on this album I didn't know were there.  The atmospheric Poor Boy is stunning.

An artist that is new to me but not to some others on here.  Early impressions are mainly positive but the re-production quality of this CD is a bit flat and lifeless.

M

Quite liked his first couple fo albums, long since deleted but for me he still hasn't made that wow album that he is capable of. The Live album gives you as close a hint of what he is capable of.

Thanks ewemon.  Have just had a quick look for that album on Am***n and there are quite a few CD versions of his live album.  Any steer as to which one sounds best?

Mike

To be honest Mike nope have only heard a promo version.

No worries ewemon. Thought I'd ask as your knowledge on these things is often encyclopaedic. My default, which I've learnt the hard way, is to go for the earliest version available.

Really weird as I have to post a picture and save it then go back into my post to edit it to add text???

Anyway, I have not played this 2006 Tom Petty album for a few years but really enjoying it.

Clearly a Richard Thompson follower.  Sorry.

(2012) CD

First listen.  After seeing Jason Isbell posted consistently by some of (the many) fine folks who share some similar musical interests, I picked up this album to try.  It has been sitting in the unopened pile for a few months.  I've seen repeated reminders since to give it a listen.  Ewemon's post from Dec 2 was the most recent.  A combination of that and what I have been playing today finally got the wrapping off.

On track 3 at this point.  So far, so good.  This is always such a great place to discover new music.

I had a different kind of Christmas playing today to lift me from the boredom of organising my accounts for the tax return due next month.

Excellent music. I've ordered his first two albums on the back of this.

Cat Stevens - Teaser and The Firecat - original vinyl - it could have done with another couple of tracks as a bit short, but an album I have played often since the seventies

Some early Mark Black. 1983 I think.  Her style is more traditional on this album and the power of her voice is more evident than on recent albums.  Crusader and Lovin' You are particular favourite songs of mine.
