Have you heard his "The Window" ???
It's a very transparent recording. Clearly very good.
I haven't Mike, is it worth picking up? The recording on this album is superb and a great advert for DSD
Hi dayjay, to be its 50/50 as good as Crossing. As a guitarist I prefer Window, for overall listening maybe Crossing cuts it better.
HH, transparent jokes go in Padded Cell, we can see thru you & its clear you are becoming a pane .........
I'll add it to the list Mike, thanks for the tip
Bought Adel's 25, heard it 3 times so far, today tho I was cleaning the kitchen so it was just for energy.
Billy Gibbons, Perfectamundo, WOW, gutsy to the max, so glad he did this with his interest in Afro/Cuban beats.
Live recording from 2005.
On vinyl.
James Gang. Thirds. On ABC vinyl from 1971. Saw the James Gang posted here earlier today.
Okko Kamu/Berliner : Sibelius Symphony 2 1970 recording
Would a Finish conductor give a better edge on Sibelius program?
This is a low key style as if the orchestra snucked in from the back door. Kamu is taking some liberty in terms of tempo and dramatic rubato. It has an inmense sense of scale and heft but at times feels like a procession of elephants. More fluid than Lenny or JB but slow and agonizing Andante. Following Vivavissimo seems lacking in tension too as done in the same style. Clarinet solo sounds cold and indifferent lacking the feeling of endearment. The finale is expansive and grand but it is like watching a whole frozen continent to move.
I regret to say this isn't my kind of Sibelius Sym. 2.
Karajan/BPO's Swan of Tuonela is gorgeous but perhaps too beautiful for the Land of Death and his Valse Triste does not have the poignant ending that makes this tune dear. Good looking as any Karajan production but empty with no real take away afterwards.

Thanks for posting this Ewemon. Have been a Jayhawks fan for many years, but this one is new to me. Have seen them live half a dozen times, and it's always been a great show. Met Gary Louris a couple of years ago. My neighbor watches his dog when he goes on tour. Really nice guy!

Described as a sort of electronic, symphonic, future-tech pop, at first listen its a little too "poppy" for me, well put together though.

I have the SACD's of both discs but the last time I saw them listed they were going for serious money. I believe David did offer downloads from his site at one time but not sure if they are still available.
One of the best recordings I own. Stunning
The Rolling Stones. Some Girls. On original vinyl from 1978. My favorite Stones album

Some good old seventies hard driving rock with great guitar riffs.
