On CD - but the DVD pic looks nicer.
Nice lively concert session.
I prefer it to the live 2005 one I have where she is more downbeat in the performance.

Daptone Gold Volume II, by Daptone Records
(2015) CD. Various artists. First listen. I have Daptone Gold , so this seemed like a natural to pick up. From the label I only have albums by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, but these compilations are a great listen.
Not sure why the cover is silver though.

Struggling to find something that hits the spot this afternoon, so on with some MK and this one which is usually very pleasing.

Pendragon, Men who climb mountains. A band I found on this thread recently and like a lot.
Then onto Rush (Who I have loved for years), Moving Pictures.

This new recording on Linn is really excellent, with fantastic sound quality too.

Having late night belatedly watched my recording of the BBC's programme on Dave Gilmour during which the title song to this album featured in a few places I thought I'd give the whole album a play.

Weissenberg: Debussy 1985 Recording
Very different from the way Gieseking plays them. Bold, strong and fast. Weissenberg zips through them with a crystal clear note delivery.
Gone is a foggy mysterous air but his Claire de Lune has that quiet placid atmosphere in a chilly autum air. High drama without sounding corny but I miss the intimacy and a little short of suspending reality.

Du Pré/Barenboim/Philadelphia Orchestra: Elgar Cello Concerto Op.85 1970 Recording
This is a live recording from the 70s and the sound quality is less than good.
Relatively restrained emotionally Adagio comes off rather cool and distant. The cello isn’t quite making the mark due to dry thin midrange can’t hold my attention all the way through.

On CD:-
I wish they would issue a deluxe version of this album as he was brilliant during this period and I am sure there must have been a lot of trax left in the can.
