Prompted by Steve's post on Mighty Baby. Interesting band. First listen.
1st listen via i-Tunes through a new macbook and Sennheiser Momentums, and sounding rather good.
Prompted by dayjay's earlier play of this. A talented lady, Suzanne Vega
Have you got the four Close Up albums - all are superb and better than the originals in many ways. The new version of Luka is rather chilling.

Have to have a look for them then, I tend to listen to the same two albums all the time

Apart from the above, my other SV albums are the one called Suzanne Vega (the one with Cracking) and Nine Objects of Desire (some stunning bass). So thanks, HH, I'll explore the Close Up albums.
Excellent! They really are great albums - buy them all!

99.9 F is excellent too & the sound quality on the 'Close Up' albums is astonishing.

Just ordered a six-disc box set of Close Up: the four albums, a bonus CD, DVD, plus booklet etc. Will report back
Sade
"Soldier Of Love" (2010) mp3

Wow - that's commitment!
Ozric Tentacles "Waterfall Cities" , from 1999.
Frank Zappa "Sheik Yerbouti" on c.d.s
this is about as 'mellow' the Ozric's get, on this album, after the 1st track is over.
'Sheik Yerbouti' is a cut up of studio, live music mixed all in together, one of my all time favourite one's.
The Temper Trap
"Conditions" (2009) mp3
So many possible variables, but my very modest system is singing beautifully today. Nothing changed recently. Perhaps my mood is just more receptive. Whatever, I intend to enjoy it for a number of hours more from this mid-afternoon forward. My knowledge of this recording came from this forum, as so many have.
Good listenin'
I seem to be going through a phase of listening to chilled albums by female artists. This is a new other enjoyable album in the vein

Love the Zappa album, that and Apostrophe are probably my two faves
U2
"Songs Of Innocence" (2014) mp3

Music composed by Manos Hadjidakis. This album was being played almost on a daily basis in the mid-seventies.
On vinyl. Haim, no snow blowers running yet so the Mahler is still on the LP rack.
Coldplay
"Ghost Stories" (2014) mp3
Suzanne Vega
"Tales From The Realm Of The Queen Of The Pentacles" (2014) SP
Prompted by all the SV discussion, her newest release is very good as well. I have been renting this music for the last 6 months and keep returning to it.
LP
"Forever For Now" (2014) SP
Contemporary pop, unique voice and style, infectious. First seen on "CBS This Morning: Saturday" in the early part of 2014.
The Beatles. Let It Be... Naked. On CD from 2003. I prefer this cleaner, de-Spectorized version of the album to the original, and the inclusion of 'Don't Let Me Down' is apt. The subdued lead guitar on the title track is appropriate for the sound of this version, but I've always preferred the more raucous leads.
