This self-titled CD arrived through the post the other day. Very impressive prog rock and debut solo album.
Lunatic Soul is the debut solo record from the lead singer and creative force behind the post-progressive band Riverside. Since the release of their debut album in 2003, Riverside have built a solid fan base in a genre that boasts the likes of Porcupine Tree, Opeth and Dream Theater. Lunatic Soul adds another name to this new post-progressive stable. 'Haunting Sounds…Brilliant' – Amazon/Metal Hammer

Testing some 'high resolution' material on the NDX:NDAC/XPS...
'The Endless River' not showing...hiding in shame perhaps (I don't mind it actually and it does sound very nice.)

Jazz standards arranged by MP and played by top-notch musicians. Exemplary.

Easily the best (to my mind) of the bunch (Ed Sheeran, Tom Odell, Jake Bugg etc) of new young British singer songwriters, but this guy is not averse to involving others for instrumentation, harmonies, and decent percussion. Nevertheless its his voice (comparisons to Jeff Buckley apparently) and accomplished playing of both guitar and piano that make this record. Lots of really good songs (he waited three years to release an album, preferring a series of EPs prior to that, and most of the best of those are on the album).

Great CD compilation of hits, misses, album tracks and unreleased material from one of the best early 1960s US instrumental groups:

I like to listen to her voice occasionally. The lyrics can be a bit twee at times.

While washing the kitchen floor I was listening to a random playlist when I landed on I'll Remember April from Charles Mingus followed by Watching TV by Roger Waters.
The former was waaaay too long (13:57 min of repeated free jazz aggression) while the second was rather shouty and annoying. Unfortunately I had washed myself into a corner and couldn't get to the remote to skip forward. Had to endure until some soothing Joe Pass guitar finally queued up.
