I don't think Roxy ever bettered this album.

An unlikely pairing but it works beautifully.

You're right Deb's. It's hard to believe it's 38 years. I was at Med School when I bought my copy and I'm now looking to retire.

Last one tonight - "Secret Beach" is such a lovely languid (in a good way) track.

Delving further into the Tangerine Tree and playing what would be disc two of two from one of their many Berlin concerts, this one in early 1981.

Very impressed with this band who play a sort of progressive krautrock / space rock style.

Interesting, as we normally hear this on piano, but orchestrated it also sounds very natural...

Minnaar and De Vriend kicked off what should become a complete cycle of Beethoven concertos earlier this year with a disc that finds Minnaar soaring above De Vriend's rather HIP-influenced, slightly exaggerated, style. The approach makes this really stand out, and I love it - but for those of us preferring a reading that is stylistically more of a piece, this might disappoint. Sound is brilliant - the slightest soft focus more than offset by the naturalness. This is available in hires PCM and DSD, but I'm listening to the autographed CD.
