The Wallflowers. Bringing Down The Horse. On CD from 1996. Because all those GEICO motorcycle insurance ads on TV made me want to hear One Headlight.

And the verdict?

kuma, it's sublim the music, sq, and the artwork. I have all 12 of the original releases and as you know all are excellent with one or two that standout 'somethin else, midnight blue are the odvious ones however, I think this is the best of the bunch, the music is open and dynamic with depth and space unlike the RVG cd. I very happy with this release, it's not been far from the turntable since it arrived in mid Jan.

regards Graham.

Comus ~ First Utterance (1971)

Perhaps a little too early in the day for something so heavy?

"A combination of gothic folk-evil and mystical malevolence that is magnificently constructed upon brilliant musicianship. It is difficult to describe because it is so different to anything else, but once heard, never forgotten. Essential listening."

Gosh you are feeling pretty 'heavy" this morning Steve!

Try Ministry's Psalm 69 after this and rock out to "Jesus Built My Hot Rod"

Just relaxing after replacing a fence post in the garden. Wife's out, volumes up.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to try and stop buying so many new albums, and listen to the ones I have, more often. I've had this one - "Formed by Fantasy" by Ben Butler & Mousepad - for two or three years and have only played it once or twice.

Ten minutes in, I can't understand why it hasn't gotten more plays. It's a terrific album.

I buy too many albums too, and need to cut back. However, I'm glad I bought this, as it's really excellent.

Rob, have a listen to Nina Hagen's version of White Punks on Dope. It's completely  mad!

Cheers Tony, I'll have a look for it. White Punks On Dope is one heck of a track, I also have it as a 7" single.

Lucky guy Steve! They were one of the bands I didn't catch live, and always wished I had.  To me that was punk before punk happened.
