CD rip:-
Mary Gauthier - Genesis (The Early Years)
Music Matters 33rpm series..
Wand is known for his Bruckner cycle but his Beethoven Cycle with NDR-Sinfonie Orchestra remains one of my reference.
Heroic and gargantuan yet they have a Mozart like aetherial air about it. What’s astonishing about Wand’s handling here is that the music never gets heavy in spite thinkly laid out dense score. It remains transparent and rhythmically agile.
Added bonus is that the RCA has done an excellent remastering job from the original digital recording ( I have this on vinyl ) and this CD release from 2001 is a fine example of skillful mastering job with an engineer with ears. (Andreas Torkler)
Thank you Kuma, just ordered on Amazon, it will be send by USA anyway as is not available in Italy. 3 weeks for shipping.
A fluent execution....

Starts with a cool 'US Blues'. I don't recall having a live version of 'Candyman', so nice surprise. Currently listening to 'Weather Report Suite'.
It's been a bit of a Genesis afternoon for me. First was this:

Superb albums, Clive. Trick of the Tail to follow, perhaps?
May as well! That's a bit lighter than Lamb.
Or maybe a job in the fire escape trade?
This for the fantastic version of The Dark End Of The Street by Roy Hamilton.
If you like Deep Soul this 5 CD series compilation by the late Dave Godin is worth checking out.

That's a great one too. Spoilt for choice.
Just listened to this - I was not so familiar with this music, but I think it deserves to be listened to
'A Trick of the Tail' won the day.
Sometimes listening a bit more to a new album might help. Initially rejected, now liked...
Snow is coming down heavy and just had a nice listen of newly released Hejira reissue remastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman studio.
Sounds more polished than my original but works nicely in my office system. The original US pressing still my preference in a bigger system giving sharper presence to Joni's voices and dynamic swing. The new reissue sounds laid back comparatively. But its new remastering balance isn't much of a deficit in my office system where a listening distance is much closer. Or possibly Kandid's forward balance might be offsetting.
Not sure who did the pressing, but I am impressed with its flat quiet vinyl.
Sky 1 HD
Tina Turner ~ Live in Amsterdam (1996/7)
Sky Arts 1 HD from 6pm tonight are putting on about 5 hours of Live Tina Turner gigs in 3 programmes. Currently watching / listening to the second of the three shows from Amsterdam Arena part of her Wildest Dreams Tour in 1996. The tour lasting 16 months reputedly grossed $100 million.
The next programme is at 9pm tonight lasting 2 hours.
On vinyl.

I thought they did a nice job on this one. My original is in less than pristine condition so the reissue is a good alternative.
Original Pink Island vinyl.
Partial Partitas.
