Cassette on my Nak. CR-1E. The old gal still sounds good.

This, on my Dragon. Iffy sound quality (it's little better than a legal bootleg) but the format is entirely appropriate...

Out today in the UK. Frank Sinatra he is not but I have to say the album has a certain charm about it. You'll probably have to be a Dylan fan to enjoy it.
Streaming on Qobuz.

My free download is playing now having just arrived. It does indeed have a certain charm and the ones that seem to work best are the less familiar songs on which he doesn't push his voice. Mind you, this is first listen! I will give it a few plays before I form a proper decision. The languid band behind him are pretty fab tho'.

Pat, I've been looking at this - what's your opinion overall? I like 1974 gigs and this looks to be a good tracklist...
Thanks Pat. It's sold out on dead.net, so I'll either have to get it as a download or somewhere else.
Another classic album on cassette, played on the Dragon:

Cello as an instruments are relatively easy thing to sound decent say compared to piano or voices, tho.
....
I am interested in your experience with the new classical releases. PIty that my reissue thread was closed, tho cuz, it would be useful to others if there is one place for the data bank.
P.S. Are you going to pony up for MTT's Mahler Project box set? ![]()
Although I'm not a real big Mahler guy I do have MTT's "The Mahler Project" from a few years ago. Are they doing another run of it?
Yes, it is strange how different labels and individuals can make or break a recording.
Konono No.1's famous mini-album, Congotronics. Why? I saw them last night and they were awesome...

Just arrived courtesy of monsieur le facteur. Been looking forward to this one!

Replacement reissue vinyl for an original LP copy i purchased in 1981...
[i wonder who's playing it now?], the selling off of my original LP collection some 20 years ago was not one of my better decisions.
But for a recent reissue digital-master, note it doesn't say remaster, this sounds just as fresh as the day it left the Kling Klang Studio 34 years ago.

Dream Theater ~ Images And Words (1992)
Just their second album at this time, the first "When Dream and Day Unite" (which I don't have nor can recall...) was released four years earlier in '88 according to Discogs.
First listen, 24/48 download from Qobuz.
Seems a nice album although it's not really Jazz, just decent grown up music.

Original vinyl

Great one!
Not as good as the earlier albums in my eyes (especially the last one before), but still enjoyable....

Original vinyl. Stan's got my vote for tonights listening pleasure.
This can be a little hard going in places, but excellent overall, and worth the effort. You can really feel the passion that went into the performance.

First listen, 24/48 download from Qobuz.

A great Jazz pianist and singer, as exemplified on her early albums. And now she's covering 10cc and singing with Michael Bloody Buble. Ye Gods.

Some would say after the "The Girl In The Other Room" album, arguably her best, certainly for original song content, it was all downhill. FWIW it was the last album of hers I bought.

Sooooo overrated. Listen to some Patricia Barber instead.
