Post siesta wake up call.
"Steeple" by Wolf People. Good album - got this for Xmas on a vinyl LP but because I have no TT at the mo I'm listening to the free digital download:
It is good, as is "Fain" the album they released in 2013.

Blue Öyster Cult ~ Tyranny and Mutation
First released in 1973
...when they were innovative and good. Had tickets to see them - 1979 I think - but they cancelled, so no lasers for me!
'Secret Treaties' remains a favourite.

I have "Secret Treaties" queued up next. Years since I have listened to them.

Haven't heard it Stevee, but on this evidence of this ("Steeple") I'm going to check out their other recordings.

"Where You Shall Take Me" (2003) mp3

Blue Öyster Cult ~ Secret Treaties
Their follow up to Tyranny and Mutation, released in 1974.
The incomparable and hugely influential 'Carter Family' (oh the joys of streaming!).
Playing 'Darling Daisy' for my daughter (Daisy) to let her hear where Kimya Dawson (whom she played me) gets her sound.
Brilliantly constructed sparse songs played with real feeling (and no autotune).

On CD:-
Boz Scaggs - Fade Into Light

"When The Pawn ..........." (1999) mp3
On 1976 A&M vinyl. Lovely.
On vinyl.
Roseanne Cash
"The List" (2009) mp3
Listening to "disgusting" music genres produced as "unlistenable" and having left my system "wastefully powered-up overnight" for maximum sound quality within the "nearly rubbish" format of my choice and purely to "increase my community ranking points", and rather enjoying it, actually, so, ......... Happy New Year to everyone here in this Happy Place.
Hypnotic music
Can't say I've ever been a Country & Western fan but this album is very enjoyable indeed. Third time I've played it since unwrapping it on Xmas Day.
Matt Deighton
"Common Good" (2002) mp3
singer/songwriter .... sings/writes songs

I'm not a C&W (bluegrass?) fan but with a voice as pure as hers you don't need to be to appreciate it. I also enjoy her album with Robert Plant "Raising Sand".

Yes, Dave. I have and enjoy Rising Sand, too It was the album that first drew my attention to Alison Krauss and her splendid voice.
On 1979 Logo Records. Always liked this album. Duncan is sadly missed.

Here in the US it is usually thought of as bluegrass (C & W here refers to the old-timers like Tammy Wynette, George Strait, etc). The Keith Urbans and Roseanne Cash folks fall into "country" and the Wilcos and Sun Volts are "alt-country". It is all good and all music.
Hopefully a treat for you MDS:
Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas doing a JT song at a James Taylor tribute.

Thanks, Jeff. I've learnt something this evening: bluegrass. I'll explore more of Ms Krauss' music.
To be clear, the Alison album you have been enjoying is "bluegrass", a JT song is considered singer/songwriter or pop probably.
Keith Urban from the same show, not just a pretty-boy mainstream success, I think he has some talent.
