A special version, with a bit slower tempo than most, worth a listen...

I've had this Dire Straits album for many years and have always liked most of it but never got on with the opening song Calling Elvis......that is until I got Naim amplification.  Suddenly the song had rhythm and the ebbing and flow of the drums became pleasing.

I was given about 60 CDs a while ago and this was among them and I don't know the band that much but quite like the  music, better than The Jam's which I always thought, still do, were overrated. Can't stand that freaking bloke weller  whatever his face is!

Schiff is not a Chech musican.

he is hungarian. Perenyi as well.

Thanks for the correction. I should have remembered reading not long ago that Andras Schiff is refusing to perform in his home country , Hungary.

Elvis Costello & The Attractions. Get Happy!! Original vinyl from 1980 bought s/h today. First listen and I'm enjoying it. The sound here is so similar to Joe Jackson from that same period.

I love Pollini's Mozart pieces. I think he has matured into playing Mozart with sufficient pathos and vigor.

He remains cool but never let the tunes go too precious.

Very personal and intimate and he’s still plenty precies with no missed notes but now the music is breathing much feely than back in the 70s.  Then there is a sense of drama he creates.

This is beautifully recorded live but no audience noise till the thunderous ovation at the end.
