Is the Ipad still useful

Posted by: analogmusic on 11 January 2015

Got myself an Iphone 6 which seems to be doing everything I can do on an Ipad.

Is the Ipad still useful? I still want to buy one to read ebooks as the screen is bigger, but I don't find any issue on reading ebooks on my Iphone 6 at all.

Screen size would be the advantage to me, who would otherwise have to change glasses to use a smaller screen closer to ...

Yes, I find it very good for this. It's nice to always have bunch of books with you.

I still buy books -call me old fashion- but I have read a couple  on the iPad Air (retina display) and it is excellent and for streaming I would not bother with iPhone. The larger screen does make it a pleasure to use and easy on the eye. Size does matter!

The iPad is a more effective fly-swatter, if that helps you to make a decision.

I'd say the Naim app is better on iPad, at least you can see track names in full instead of just the first half.

Helen has recently got the 6 Plus and it's a big jump for just about everything, not least battery life. But I still prefer using the Naim app on the iPad. I spose I've just got used to it and find it logical and comfortable. We don't use the iPad for anything else.

Yes size does matter. I love that I can easily hold my iPhone 6 in one hand whilst reading for extended periods. I set the text big enough, and can select the next page with a swipe of my thumb using the same hand that's holding it. That way I can keep reading and drink a coffee/beer at the same time. The only limitation of the small screen can be when there is a diagram or picture, but that seldom is a real issue. The small size, in practice, means I have a bunch of books with me at all times. I carry my phone pretty much everywhere, but not my iPad. I don't mine reading on my iPad, but find that simply due to convenience, I am much more likely to do so on my iPhone.

I used to drink my tea from a mug.

Recently I bought a cup.

I like tea from the cup and I like it from the mug but the cup is easier to put in my pocket.

Does anyone still use mugs?

I like a macchiato with a double shot of espresso. Can't stand tea - mug or not!

is the mug an Ipad?

is the cup the iphone?

let me ask Adam another question since he is obviously enjoying this.

In his analogy world, what is the NDS and what would be Chord Hugo?

David and Goliath?

You do not seem to know your own mind. This is quite common.

in your thinking, enjoying music on a 282/250 but wanting to upgrade to a 552/500 would be not knowing one's mind?

This is not a mug or a teacup adam
