Ogg Vorbis

Hi Chaps, I'm just wondering what is Ogg Vorbis ?

Today I've been deleting some duplicate files on my PC and on opening some folders up pit seems that all the music files are labeled Ogg Vorbis.

I've done a bit of research and feel a bit confused. The files on my NAS are ripped as FLAC files but each file has the Ogg Vorbis logo on it.

So are my files written as Lossy files?

Thanks in advance..

Hi,
From what I have read, yes ogg files are lossy like MP3.
Some free ripping software employs ogg and not flac.
A internet search will give you all the info you need.

What file extension type is on the files? Are these showing as .flac or as .ogg?

If file extension isn't showing in windows explorer, you should still be able to find out by right clicking on a file and checking its properties.
