Heads up for Pompey music fans

This Wednesday, The Raptures first gig in a proper venue - and they may even be paid if enough tickets are sold! My Henry (he's 17) is the bass player - we're so excited! They even have proper tickets.

Very cool!  I've heard of their backup band, the Supports.

Next thing you know he'll be at the wedgewood rooms, then the guildhall...  congrats and have a great evening.  I use to live in Chichester, so those venue's bring back fond memories !

Gosh, that brings back some memories.  Haven't had a pint in the Cellars for many a year, though the Three Marines was my local for quite a while when I was a lad.  Great atmosphere for bands.  Hope it goes well, HH. As Guy007 says, next step the Wedgewood Rooms!

Thanks to all. If any of you fancy revisiting old haunts, I'll try to get you a face to face with the band.

Have a great evening whilst you discreetly beam with pride!

Nigel,

you must be excited, moved and proud. I still remember our visit to you and Hilary and the boys a few years ago, I fiddled a bit with Henry's guitar and changed one string or something, then he and I played Wii, and I was beaten up.

It was a very nice day, and Henry looked like a child.. Now he has 'proper tickets' and plays bass; I too played bass in my one and only band.

Have a great time tomorrow,

M

It's a good job my frozen shoulder is getting better, as I'll be putting this in the back of the car tomorrow....

Have a great night tonight, I hope all goes well.

Just watch how you are carrying that bass combo HH, they are damned heavy. I don't want the gig to end up as The Ruptures plus Supports!

Very funny!

How was 'the gig' as we old and out of touch musos might call it?

It all went really well, and a good time was had by all. It's amazing how proficient they have become, and most of them are still only 16.

And here they afterwards, looking justifiably pleased with themselves.

Glad it went well HH. I'm sure you'll treasure those photos for many a year.  Never know, they might be in wider demand one day.
