Mu-so upnp play to?

Posted by: Tom_W on 13 February 2015

Can any Mu-so owners successfully manage to  send tracks to the player using  any control point software?
Even windows media player 'Play to'  service doesn't work for me. Neither does bubble upnp.  I get a '501 action failed' error.
I think this is a firmware/software bug that has been longstanding in Naim upnp streaming software,  but I'm interested to know if others experience the same problem.

Asset and Logitech Media Server are working for me.

I am able to use Linn's Kinsky app to control my Mu-so. It is not perfect - cannot get the volume control to work - but it does allow me to select and play music stored on a Synology NAS via the MinimServer.

@billposter @peterks

Thanks for your replies. Asset and Logitech Media Server are both upnp servers, rather than control points, so these are not the components I have an issue with.

I am talking about the feature where you can send a track from your pc (I am using windows), or phone, to be played on the muso. On Windows Media Player this feature is called 'Play To'.

The reason I use WMP is just because it is a simple benchmark for compatibility. If it doesn't work with WMP, this is a good indicator of whether there is a problem with Naim.

I'm also interested in whether any other software can get this function to work properly though. I can't get it to work using Bubbleupnp either.

@peterks, Interesting re: Kinsky. Thanks. I'll probably address this in another thread, as I want to keep this one focussed on a single issue so that I can point Naim customer service in this direction.

I push to my NDX without any problems from both my NAS and MediaMonkey on PC. I think that the problem with Windows Play To is more of a Windows issue.

Thanks Bananahead, but this question is specifically about the mu-so. I don't have a problem doing this with my Uniti either.
