Does anybody have any idea why my Uniti2 often can not find my Mac?

I am running Asset with a wired ethernet connection, the iRadio works fine.

It finds it one day and then not the next.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

The only NAS who run asset natively is QNAP.

I have their fanless HS-251 (with asset - only for music) and am very pleased with it.

P.S. Most of that free provider routers are rubbish. Try a good aftermarket router (like the AirPort Extreme, when all of your other gear is from Apple). Then swap the provider router to only a modem instead.

Coincidentally, I've just ordered one of these to run PLEX & stream my movies so I can access them over 't internet as well as home.

If I put my music on it, will my Mu-so be able to see it, or can I install Asset on the QNAP as well?

Go to the Illustrate website, and look at Asset for QNAP.  They list which versions of the QNAP NAS processors will work with Asset.  I know it works fine on my QNAP NAS, because that's how I now do it!

There is no problem to run several UPnP servers on one NAS at the same time. You will see them separate on the Client (Be it a Mu-so or others) and you can choose over which to play the music.

This comes in handy for evaluation which one you like most. In the end I just kept my favourite and uninstalled the superfluous ones...

Plex can handle movies & music - Asset is specialized on music only.
