Mac XLD settings for ripping to FLAC
Posted by: Kevin May on 15 February 2015
Am finally buying a Naim Superuniti, so now need to start ripping my cd's. Have got XLD on my macbook pro, but set up menus look daunting! Want to rip on mac book pro then transfer to nas (have not got yet). Anyone got a crib list for XLD setting? Many Thanks - Kevin

Hi Kevin
95% of my music was ripped via a UnitiServe, which I no longer have. It was ripped to .wav. Now, all of my music is .flac, courtesy of XLD.
In preferences, go to 'General', then select which 'Output Format' you want. In 'CD Rip', (Ripper Mode) select 'Secure Ripper'. The other boxes are pre ticked as default, but you can of course change those. You can then select where you want the files to go on your Mac. I personally created a folder on my desktop, and sorted out the files from there.
Having said all of the above, just this week, a very kind and knowledgeable 'forum member' introduced me to 'dbpoweramp music converter/ripper' for Mac. I have found this to be excellent.
Have a play around and see what you prefer.
