N serve bugs
Posted by: Jeff888 on 02 April 2011
New n serve looks great but if you remove an attached USB drive it can not sync up again - my iPad shows "loading" in s dialogue box and I can't even see the Hdx server now. Can anyone offer any help as I now cant use this app at all

I had an issue where on changing some cover art via the desktop client gave the "loading..." message which went on and on and on...
Seemed no way of killing the app so I reset the iPad (held down the home and power buttons simultaneously until shut down and the Apple logo reappeared).
No problems since.

John, any app on iPad or iPod should be able to be quit. Click home button once to return to home screen. Then double click home button to expose the most recently open apps at the bottom of the screen. Touch and hold desired app until it wiggles and shows a red minus in its upper left corner. Tap icon once again and it closes. Push home button to stop other apps from wiggling.
Does that work for you?

No. That didn't work. The app did not show in the multi-task bar as you describe.

Thanks for the feedback Jeff&John.
We will see if we can reproduce those issues next week.

Hmmm it's probably unfair to call this a bug but using nStream with the Uniti and I've just loaded some new presets in iRadio and they all work fine except for a German news station called RTRR Europa. This works fine using the Uniti remote but whenever it's selected with nStream although it connects ok to the station, it then causes nStream to close and it won't open again until a different station is selected with the Uniti remote. nStream then works fine again. Just thought you might like to know!

John Bailey,
On iPhone or iPad, if your screen is displaying the app (eg nserve in your case), that app itself does not show up in the active list when you double click the home button.
To show it and force quit it, you need to be in another app or at least on the home screen to bring up the list to kill it.

Ihau,
Thanks. I'll try that if it happens again.

John

One thing I've noticed so far:
The Sigur Rós album "Ágætis Byrjun" was always displayed correctly, however with the new n-Serve release it's displayed as "Ágćtis Byrjun".

Michel

John&Jeff,
We can't reproduce your issue here. Are you running the latest iPad firmware (4.3.1)? You can check this by going to the settings app:
Settings > General > About > Version
If you are running and older version could you upgrade your iPad to the latest iOS (connect to iTunes and it should prompt you to upgrade).
Michel,
We have identified the problem with the Sigur Ros title and it will be fixed in the next release

Tom,
My iPad's OS was 4.3 so I will update to 4.3.1

John.
