Internet Radio

There was a downtime I have experienced in all my "added stations" earlier today (gmt 0000hrs hours to about 0800hrs). I am trying to understand what went wrong. Can anyone here help me understand how does vtuner works in the context of WAN connectivity? How many server do we rely on for a iradio stream to work?
