Mu-so firmware beta testing

Posted by: TJ on 10 March 2015

Hi All,

Over the next couple of weeks we will be testing a firmware update for Mu-so. If you would like to be involved then please post here along with details of your system and other useful details such as UPnP server, iOS or Android, Wifi kit, which language you use the app in etc.

Remember that Beta testing involves loading and using firmware that may not be the final candidate for public release so it may have minor issues. Generally when we release to public beta most of the gremlins have been ironed but there is always the chance of running into bugs, so please only get involved if you are comfortable with using pre-release software.

Thanks

Tom

Hello TJ

Does this FW update add the possibility of adjusting the treble on the mu-so, which currently rolls off sharply at 8000 Hz ?

Thanks,

J-E

Hi TJ

I'm in as well.  Bought a mu-so on Saturday and really enjoying it so far.

Server is a UnitiServe.  Listening mostly with uPnP.  Also have a SuperU and 2 x Qutes around the house.

Connected wirelessly (which works surprisingly well so far, even on 24 /48k material.

Hi,

Yes, I'm interested in beta testing the mu-so firmware.

My mu-so is hardwired to a Netgear 16 port switch, with streaming in FLAC from an ns-01.  I use ios on an iPad mini to control, in English.  I also use iradio and Spotify.

Yes, would like to participate. mu-so is usually connected via Ethernet to Neatgear GS108T switch. Mostly listen via UPnP from MinimServer on Apple iMac which is connected via Wi-Fi 802.11n to Airport Extreme, also on NetGear. This works well even for FLAC 192kHz. Sometimes use AirPlay. Naim iOS app as controller. Sources are iTunes library (AAC, ALAC), some HD files and MinimStreamer for BBC HLS streams.

Thanks for the offers, Several names here I recognise as regular contributors which is great, looking forward to having you on board.

All the discussion about beta releases is done on a closed forum here, You should all be added soon. When you have access you will see the beta group listed alongside the other forums here:

https://forums.naimaudio.com/forums

In the meantime I also need some more details from you. To install the mu-so firmware you need to be running the beta version of the naim app. See below and email me direct at tom.johnson@naimaudio.com

Apple iOS

I need the email address you use as your Apple ID. If you are unsure what I mean go to the App Store app on your iPad/iPhone and scroll right to the bottom of the first page, it will show you what Apple ID you are signed in as.

Android

I need your preferred contact email address, I will send you an invite to install the beta Android app to this email address.

Posted on: 17 March 2015 by TJ

@Glyn, Can you mail me the email address you log into the forum with, there are two "Glyns", I need to know which one you are

@Jan-Erik Nordoen, This is not a specific issue I am aware of. If changing loudness and/or room position setting from the app doesn't give you the desired effect I will get our support team to contact you

@Super, RE iRadio dropouts. The answer is .. quite possibly. Assuming your problem isn't related to local network setup or the quality/latency of the station you are listening to then there is a fix in the beta release that may help you. Let me know if you want to join the beta group.

I'm in. Mine is hard wired and attached to a Unitiserve. Details in my profile. Hope it'll fix the lack of 'gapless' playback.

Posted on: 19 March 2015 by TJ

@pete, Thanks for the offer, the next release doesn't add gapless, but I have a feeling it will come in the release after. I will get you added to the beta team, could you email me your email details as per my post above.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have enough volunteers now, Thanks! If you are still interested by all means post but you probably probably won't  be added to the beta team for this round of testing.
