RIP Andy Fraser

Free bassist Andy Fraser has died at the age of 62, it's been confirmed.

He passed away on Monday morning. His cause of death has not been confirmed, but he'd been dealing with AIDS and cancer in recent years.

Fantastic bass player he was too. A sad loss at that age.

Oh my goodness another great loss and only at the age of 62.

 

A great bass player who I saw many a times in the heyday of Free.

 

Free At Last.

Will have to dig out the Live version of 'Mr Big'. Brilliant bass playing. A gifted songwriter too.

Was just going to post it... what a loss, Andy could make that EB3 talk.  A plus 1 on the songwriting ... It was Andy who wrote the All Right Now guitar riff.

My Free albums - mainly their second - gets a regular play.  One of my favourite bands of the late '60's early '70's and very influential.  RIP Andy
