Updated n-serve crashes

I reported this same problem, with a 5S and iPad Air in my case, a few days ago. Yesterday Phil told me that the Devs were looking into it, but no-one else had reported the problem. Now there are two of us!

Slightly off topic, but I have been experiencing wi-fi drop outs when using my iPad / n-Stream to control my NDS.

My router lives in the living room at the front to the house, whilst my listening room is at the rear.

I'd assumed this was more to do with my wi-fi setup, and had taken steps to improve things, without success so far.

My NDS is on it's way back to Naim for repair, so I've reverted to my HDX temporarily, controlled by n-Serve.

Much to my surprise, and pleasure, n-Serve is performing flawlessly, with no drop outs whatsoever.............so can there possibly be a difference between the two apps, in terms of wi-fi robustness.........go figure!

I have the same issue...thats 3!

Me too, using iphone5s and iPad Air2. The app also mistakenly reports " internet offline" when using the radio, it tells me this even as I am streaming Radio Paradise !

At least it's good to know that several people have this issue. Hope Naim will fix this soon...

Me too, that's 5 - and counting!!

Same problem here as well. iPhone 6 and iPad Air running latest iOS version.

Me too. Crashes continually on my iPhone 5.

Still no reaction from Naim...

Seems to me that sometimes cover art is also not displayed anymore...

Naim support have told me that they are looking into it but it's difficult because they aren't seeing any such problem on the same devices we are using and that "thousands" of people have no problems at all with the uodated App.

i haven't seen an artwork issue myself.  Sometimes when I start n-serve App the cover artwork for the first few albums doesn't show up until you scroll in the albums view and then scroll back, but I think that used to happen sometimes before the update to 2.8

Are you using 2.8 or 2.9? I'm not sure if there's even any difference between them, as 2.9 was billed as just a 'New app icon.' As far as I can see, though, it's the same new app that came in 2.8 so maybe there's more to it than that?

Thank you for your reply David. Regarding the cover art, that is exactly what I mean. It never happened before, that's the reason why I mentioned it.

I've contacted Naim support, as advised here, but received no reply from them...

i'm using 2.9 but for me the problem manifested itself after updating to 2.8 . Naim support told me that 2.9 changed the App icon but was otherwise the same as 2.8

Hi,

We think this crash is related to a low memory warning from the device n-serve is running on. We should have a proposed fix to our beta team in the next day or two.

And yes, 2.9 is identical in every way to 2.8 other than the build number. In order to change the app store icon I had to re-issue the app.

Is the update forthcoming Naim? these crashes are getting annoying seems us N-Serve users are getting left behind with updates & new functions.

Sorry for the delay on this one. There were several crashes here. I think we have fixed all expect perhaps one. We will release 2.10 today. Please post feedback if it still crashes for you and exactly what device (iPhone or iPad) you are using

Yes I am afraid the updates App still crashes for me. So if I have the n-Serve App running and put my iPad into standby by closing the Smart Cover for a few seconds, it crashes when I open it again.  This is whether the App was the currently displayed App or not.

i am using an iPad Air running IOS 7.1.1

Still crashes for me when coming out of lock screen.  Very repeatable.  Open app.  Lock phone / pad.  Unlock phone / pad.  N-serve immediately closes.

On an iPhone 5S on iOS8.3, and iPad Mini w/ Retina display on iOS 8.2.

Still crashes for me just as before.  iPhone 6; iOS 8.3
