Tidal. Goodbye Spotify!!

Another problem for Naim then
Any chance of Tidal getting incorporated in to your streamers.
I'm really keen to pay £250 a year (nearly twice what I pay BBC) to make Madonna even richer and listen to music I've already paid for before! Sheesh, Boo Boo
Yes, quite. Luckily, I am not poor enough to spend £20 per month to access Taylor Swift's 1989 album in its full fat glory, but I am sure the masses will be only too keen to pay an extra £10 a month over their spotify premium for that privilege, rather than buying the album for £10.
£20 a month will, for the sake of discussion buy 2-3 albums at 16/44 or above, possibly more with astute boxed set purchases. 36, possibly going on 50 after a year? 350-500 over 10 years. Or, if you stream from a remote service, nothing. But the most important thing is that we have a choice. Choice is good. It's if we all had to pay the industry per play that would be depressing.
I'm 100% confident that this service and others will be coming down the pipe for those of us who want it with Naim streamers. Possibly a long pipe, but better that than half finished.
I don't see the kids paying double spotify even if original artists get a better cut, and the likes of me won't be going for this on principle that I've no interest in making the richest musicians richer ( I also generally need a hard copy for car/portable etc.) Bandcamp is the sustainable model, great value and a fair return to the artists.
I am thrilled to have Tidal and very glad to see new investors. Tidal is more likely to succeed in the long run with some name recognition creating demand. More choices and it will force Spotify to step up their game as well.
I will bet lossless streaming is on everyone's roadmap now. Tidal is very smart to have basic and premium price tiers. I have been a Tidal subscriber for a few months, tried Spotify for about 4 hours, then canceled my trial. Beats gets the axe from my monthly membership next.

Don't get your hopes up. Both PS and PH have confirmed it will be 'Connect' only, not full integration. Still better than nothing.
My hopes for this kind of service will never be up because it doesn't interest me in the least. But these services will be covered in time. And it will take as long as it takes to do it right. Which might turn out to be barely as long as this pay per play juke box money spinner takes to go out of vogue - and then again maybe not.
Tidal = less than 70p a day for 25 million plus tracks in cd quality with the strong possibilty of HD and MQA available later this year. You could save ten quid a month with Spotify or why not go the whole hog and sell off your Naim set up!
