nd 5xs turns on in the night

Posted by: Rbt1 on 13 April 2015

hi all, Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this. My nd5xs turned on unexpectedly 2 nights in a row from standby mode. Does anyone have an idea what might cause this? It's not even 1 year old. Should I just take it to the dealer and let him check it out.

If it happens on iradio then you probably have the latest firmware installed. Its a known bug. If you wait long enough Naim will fix this fault but probably introduce other faults along the way. But hey at least its not a premium branded product you have purchased. Oh it is

yes it happens on iradio. so that means just wait and see if a fix comes along. in the mean time should i shut it off at night as a work around? or turn the volume down before i go to bed

Switch it to an unused input. That will stop it.

Made me smile

My UQ is staying well away from any firmware upgrades and is running happily on ver 3.21 but this doesn't help Rbt1 because I don't think you can roll back to an older firmware.

As Foxman mentioned you will just have to wait until Naim eventually release the new bug free version!

To be fair i leave mine on another input as it seems to only affect iradio, but just to be sure turn the amp volume down also. belt and braces. I wouldn't turn the unit off though.

The latest firmware, which is in beta test, seems to have fixed the problem. For now, just switch to another input, such as FM or upnp.
