Two versions offered. Soft float and hard float. Does it matter which?

I have the TS-112. Couldn't get on with Minim. I now use Plex Media Server. Free in the App centre. Brilliant!

I use Minim on my Synology and it's a fantastic bit of software, and very flexible. I'd join the Minim forum and ask which version to use, unless you can find out from QNAP.

Hi, this would normally depend on the CPU (within your NAS). If the CPU has a hardware floating point processor then you would use the 'hard float'. This would give better performance for transcoding etc.

Otherwise use the 'soft float' which uses code that emulates the floating point processor.  This code will be more universal but usually less performant.

If there is not a clear indication of your NAS of its capability  I would try the hard float first.. If it installs and works ok then great.. If not then you will need to use the soft float.
