Yes, there are so many. It's funny, but when I heard the Beethoven melody in Kuma's clip, starting at the 5th measure, I was immediately reminded of another of the most beautiful melodies: Bernstein's Somewhere ... I wonder if he was referring to the Beethoven here?

The Adagio sostenuto of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 is very lyrical.

Todd Rundgren was a great balladist.

I love this 1971 album 'Runt: The Ballad of Todd Rundgren' and particularly love the Wailing Wall.

Steve Vai- For the Love of God ...  actually sounds quite celestial to my ears, and builds to a wonderful climax...

Fatcat,

Nice track from Judee Sill. I've loved her music since I was a student back in the mid 70s. Almost anything by her could appear on my list.

However, I'll choose "Wind Words" from Stomu Yamashda's "Freedom is Frightening" album for now - A hauntingly beautiful piece of instrumental music!
