Cd storage

Hello all,

After many years of wanting my CD collection on show I've decided that I would now like to have it all hidden. Does anyone know of some chest of drawers that will hold CDs perfectly so that when you open the draw you can search through easily for the cd your looking for. I have some 2500 + CDs so may have to buy a few. I'm based in the UK.

I've just seen the ikea malm chest of drawers and was wondering if anyone has this and how many CDs you can fit.

Any clothing chest of drawers is designed for fluffy jumpers etc, cramming them with CDs will most likely cause the bottoms to drop out, or distort so the drawers jam. Either strengthen them (easy if you are a DIY expert) or go for something more along the lines of a large bookcase with thick shelving. You may want to add more shelves so having access to the right particle board finish will be essential before choosing.

Have you considered changing the 555 for an NDS network player

Or more radical would be change the 555 & 552 for a NAC-272

A 2 bay NAS to hold 2500 CD's is typically 165 x 110 x 235mm, one helluva lot more compact than a cabinet full of so many CD's

Also remember CD's do suffer disc edge corrosion (CD rot) & do not last forever.
