Connection magazine..

Does anybody know what happened to the Connection Magazine? The "online" version can't be accessed and won't  download properly.

Hi Tony,

I've just been on to the website Connection area and tried to download the last Connections magazine and it worked fine.  Is it a specific issue that has problems?

Hi

I also cannot access the Connection Mag on my iPad Air. Just get a grey screen with a rotating circle. No problem accessing anything else.

OK, is it the Hendrix cover issue you're trying to access?

I get the same problem on iPad and iPhone, but the grey screen disappears in a few seconds on Macbook/Safari. I seem to remember having this problem a while back with some Naim web pages: the page is there underneath the grey screen, you can catch a glimpse of it by swiping up and down, but that's it.

The issue only affects my iphone and Ipad. Seems to work ok on PCs.

It's working fine on Safari and my Macbook Pro.

Yes, the Mac is fine. Really strange!

I'm on a Mac and can't open that page at all - it bring everything to a grinding halt.

I am registered (or was?) to receive a postal copy of Connection.

The last one I received was Winter 2013.

I sent an e-mail  to Naim in Jan. regarding lack of subsequent copies.

Didn't get a reply and have sent another enquiry.

When I try the download method , all copies are listed up to and including Winter 2011-12.

There's nothing beyond this.

Is this normal?

I use Safari on a MacBook Pro.

AFAIK, the last hard copy to go out was the Hendrix cover issue, which was Winter 2013-14.  It would appear that the articles and features from that issue are now on the Connection area of the Naim website and there are more recent ones added since then.  I'm not sure when the next printed Connection is coming.

It was like this this morning... nothing changed!

This may be going off at a slight tangent, but the grey screen that appears to be masking the web page is the same as the one I get while waiting for most pages to load on the Naim site - and they consistently load more slowly than any other website IME. I always assumed this was because of the hi-res images used on the site, and that these were perceived to be in keeping with Naim's image as a premium brand. In practice, though, the tedium of waiting has the opposite effect.

Chris,

you should have the grey and also a white circular sectioned "vortex" in the centre that spins as it loads the page.  This should only be seen momentarily though.  I'm not IT expert but I'm guessing there may be something at work on your computer that may not be up to date, or in conflict? Perhaps someone who is better with computers mighty be able to suggest something...

Richard, I suspect it's not helped by my slowish line speed, 4 or 5 meg when it's behaving itself. It usually takes a good 10 seconds for each page to load, sometimes much longer, regardless of which Mac OS/iOS device I use.

This isn't a big issue for me - it's not as if I need to access the site that regularly - but if others are having the same issue I would think Naim might want to get it sorted, as it doesn't give a very slick impression.

The issue still persists and now takes about a minute  on the IPhone to load but the iPad is still the same and  I do have good up/download speeds. As Chris pointed out it's not a major thing but ought to be looked at as a matter of principle.

Tony, I have e-mailed Naim to let them know.

Thank you Richard.

Just hoping the hard copy of the super mag will continue long into the future, for, ahem, old media diehards.
