Another very sad loss. One of the very last Blues Greats.
RIP.
Indeed. Was playing 'Blues on the Bayou' just yesterday evening.
A true giant.

Very sad news
One of the most influential musicians of our times
One of the greats of the Blues who has given me many hours of pleasure has just died aged 89.
Thank you for your music.
Here's one of the write up's that is up online this morning.
The 'King of the Blues' guitarist and singer, BB King, has died aged 89, his lawyer says.
King, known for his hits Lucille, Sweet Black Angel and Rock Me Baby, died in his sleep in Las Vegas.
Born in Mississippi, King began performing in the 1940s and was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He was recently taken to hospital with a diabetes-related illness.
Rolling Stone magazine once ranked BB King in third place in its list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time, just below Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman.
A former farmhand, King was awarded his 15th Grammy award in 2009 for his album One Kind Favor.
Even until recently, King performed in at least 100 concerts a year.
I would not be surprsied if the US creates a BB King day to celebrate his life.
That's real sad news! Rest in peace Riley!
One of the all time greats .... RIP BB.
Sad sad news...
Sad news. R.I.P. B.B. King
RIP BB King - I shall be listening to your music and raising a glass to you at the midnight hour
A true showman and one of the finest players of all time. May Lucile ring out in heaven. RIP BB!
A sad day indeed. The old fella lasted well and was a lovely man, a great entertainer - I remember him dishing out (fake) jewelry to us at a Hammersmith Odeon gig many years ago.
Sad news losing this wonderful guitarist and showman, a great innings well played!
So his daughter may have been right after all, that BB King was not properly taken care off.
R.I.P. BB one of the true classic guitar men.
His death at 89, yeah it has to be somebodies fault eh?
I've moved this thread into the Music Room, where I think it's most appropriate.
Bye bye BB, and thank you for all you've given us.
For those of you who wish to expand your BB King music collection, I can highly recommend The Vintage Years Box set on Ace Records which gathers his early recordings for Kent, Crown and RPM.
One of the true greats. RIP.
If you are ever near Indianola, Mississippi, check out the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center. Well worth a visit.

You may think it was enough for him, but if it was unnecessary then it was untimely.
And he wasn't dead when the claims for bad treatments were made.
He just died within a week after the claims were made.
As for his daughter, I know there was some pretty nasty legal wrangling regarding his impending estate, and the daughter lost a judgment in court recently, so I would not put too much stock in her claims, inasmuch as those kinds of things can get really, really nasty, and lead people to say, do, and claim all sorts of things.
May the King of the Blues RIP.
Very sad day indeed. I remember going to his nightclub on Beale St. back in '95.
Rest in peace B.B. and thanks for the music.
Very sad. BB was the last concert I attended with my younger late brother in 2000 shortly before his death in 2001. I remember it like it was yesterday. Guest musicians were Susan Tedeschi Band and Buddy Guy...Heavy heart today...

Will be sadly missed.

He did the same in Zürich a couple of years ago. He'd lost quite a bit of his power, but from time to time little bits of magic emerged.
'The king is dead, long live the King'. Very sad news, he will remain iconic. There is a very emotional interview with Rolling Stones bass player on BBC about him. Peter
