Goodbye

It appears that people can openly discuss their experiences with Chord STA and other third party accessories but my contributions seem to be censored and deleted.
I will now find another home to share my experiences. My user name will be the same.
Thank you to everyone who has been of assistance and I wish you all the best for the future.
Minh - don't take it personally. It's just the forum rules and we all end up breaking them from time to time and getting moderated or a post deleted. Richard moderates and maintains the forum to a very high standard.
I hope you'll still contribute here.
James
The forum rules apply to everybody, not just you Minh.
Most of us have fallen foul of the rules at some time or other and had posts censored or deleted.
Some of my entire threads have been deleted.
Its bloody annoying and often seems petty, at least to me, but "Rules is Rules" I suppose.
I have no reason to stay here anymore. I have refrained from commenting about Super Lumina. Would anyone like to know what I think of it before I leave? In addition, do Naim not even realise that the decoupling on the connector for Super Lumina and the Hi-Line is fundamentally flawed?
Yes, I am interested.
You seem fairly intent on some type of dramatic departure. In the short time I've been here I noticed that the people that truly leave the forum do it with no proclamation; they just vanish. Those that make an announcement are usually back, often very soon. Why not just say what you think?
Yes, I am interested.
NAC A5 is analogous to a dimmed light bulb. The sound it produces is warm and fuzzy.
Super Lumina is analogous to a brighter bulb. Those that buy SL do not see the clear light of day.
I started a thread about my experiences with Clearer Audio cables. I have read over the past few months of people's experiences with SL. These people have not even taken the time to consider the alternatives. Naim should be grateful that I did not intervene on any of those threads. The word zealot comes to mind. People can listen to music but they are deaf to the Naim sound. There is no such thing as the Naim sound. It was the advice from Naim that their stock power cables were more than adequate. Those that were curious experimented with third party mains cables. Low and behold Naim release the Powerline. Did the Naim sound change? The Naim sound changes whenever Naim decide it is convenient for them. I would have more respect for Naim if they collaborated with other companies that had more expertise than them. Instead, they use their limited knowledge to release silver plated copper at absurd prices.
Yes, I am interested.

why so bitter? what a way to leave!
i use NACA5 by the way -- and also SL IC. i am so upset by what you say about them that i will now go to the bathroom and slash my wrists...
we all need to give the forum a rest from time to time and perhaps that is what you need right now. whaveter your reasons/motives....
enjoy!!!

Indeed Randy, this is a proper flouncing out - we've not seen someone get that flouncy in a while. As you rightly say, the biggest drama queens are always the quickest to return.
This particular poster seems to possess quite a highly developed sense of drama, particularly when it comes to the significance of his hi-fi peregrinations, so I suspect he won't be able to stay away for too long...
I'm sure we're all very grateful, not to mention relieved.
Rhetorical question so don't bother answering: what makes you think that no one considered or auditioned any alternatives? A narrow view based on ignorance. Whilst this is not a crime it does mirror back on you what you seem to accusing the rest of us of. Knickers in a bit of a twist by the sound of it.
Enjoy your grandstanding.
You're talking as if you own the place. Hate to break it to you buddy, but you actually don't - nor are you the centre of the universe, as you appear to think - and people will continue to post on threads as long as the interest is there and the mods allow. The interest probably won't be there for long in this case, as you're not that important, and the forum goes on, and no member, not even mighty Minh Nguyen, is bigger than it [forum].
Also, if you're not going to be around to read comments on a thread, how can you be in a position to request that people don't post on it? Unless, of course, you will be lurking, reading, waiting to make a return as bathetic as your departure.
Those that make an announcement are usually back, often very soon.

15 days later...
Discussion of unauthorised modifications to Naim equipment is strictly forbidden here. That includes alternative non-Naim power supplies, SNAICs and Burndies. At best, performance will not be as intended, at worst, serious damage to equipment may well result, for which Naim will not be held liable. Any guarantee or warranty is voided after any such modification.
Posts that attempt to discuss unauthorised modification to Naim equipment are always moderated. Threads started purely to discuss modifications are removed.
If you are unsure about the rules or require any further clarification, then please do just ask. I try to apply the rules as fairly as I can. Sometimes it's a fine line and I'm open to off-forum discussion. However, on unauthorised modifications, it's pretty much black and white.
Bye then.
I totally agree with Richard on this, for many reasons. However i also agree with an awful lot of what Minh says. Nothing like sitting on the fence
Communities have rules, if you don't like them you can leave. If you don't see any value in the forum you can leave. If you are uncomfortable with people not always sharing your ideas, you can leave.
It's all up to you, it's a free world. But please don't make such a point of it.
Strikes me that you were quite happy to make this a talk to my self thread, as perfected by several Forum members.
Bye then.
Plenty of places you can moan and hate Naim all day long. Take your pick. Just not here, oddly enough.
This place is so polite - in certain other fora which can remain nameless such flouncing is met with full on derision and public ridicule.
Min - even I've been edited by Richard (I know it's almost impossible to believe!!) but "it's the way it is".
Why not ask for this thread to be deleted as well, take a time out, enjoy your music and slip back when you're ready.
Regards,
Lindsay
If you really mean it why haven't you requested Richard to delete you account then this and all your other posts will be removed for good. I think you are cutting off your nose to spite your face and should reconsider.
Regards,
Ken
Bye Minh.
I empathise with you about your well considered stuff getting 'moderated' (aka trashed), but hey that's life on a busty forum, it happens to the best of us (I know because it happened to me ). Give Richard a break, eh?
10 years is a long time to throw down the tubes, so let us know where we might find you after you're gone ? (e.g. the Scottish forum ?)
Just a thought.. you could maybe go for the 'most number of posts in a Goodbye thread' award?
..as I said, just a thought.
