Fanless NAS

Hello,
Has anyone an opinion on Qnap HS-251fanless NAS?
Thanks
Yes.. Mine has been running since October last year.. Not a hitch... Running Asset and updates as notified.. Brilliant with 2 x WD 2 Tb reds
Although not the model you are considering, I've been running a QNAP TS119 1 bay 2TB Fanless NAS for nearly 4 years without any issues.
(I do have other back ups by the way)
It does seem to be very robust, fingers crossed I haven't 'jinxed' it!
As stated in previous posts also mine (HS-251) runs very quiet with 1 WD red HDD for serving files and 1 WD green HDD for backup (I prefer not to have raid 1 to avoid both HDD's spinning together and producing noise and vibration).
I installed Minimserver and Assetnas to serve files to my NDX.
cheers
A very good device I have one running 2x3TB WD Red drives with Asset installed and it has worked flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Hi Michael,
I believed it could support only 2x2TB. Is it the same model?
Are you aware of any operating system restrictions? I plan to run it with Mac OS X.
Many thanks for your feedback.
HS210 up and running for more than have a year with 2x 1TB SSSs – works like a charm. Very much like NO noise at all. HS251 should be as nice...
The HS-251 definitely supports 2x3TB drives.. there are many sites selling it set up as this as a package.
I am using mine to feed my NDX and I use Windows 7 for editing, back up to external drive, ripping etc.
I have no experience of Mac OS but I am sure there are many here who can answer that question.
