Any suggestions and recommendations for a genre that needs a place in any music lovers collection ?

I'm thinking more Glen Campbell, Lee Hazlewood , John Denver .... If it's got a string section in it +.

I like a bit of country-lite, perhaps not exactly what you are looking for but some might appeal.

Try Brandy Clark '12 Stories', Joan Shelley 'Electric Ursa', Lia Rose (lots on Bandcamp), Mary Chapin-Carpenter.

Alela Diane is very good-but more folk than pure country again.

Trisha Yearwood - Everybody Knows - is a nice album. Not a bad song and sound quality is excellent.

For a bit of country rock. The Jayhawks - Tomorrow the Green Grass is hard to better.

Kathy Mattea has a very unique, powerful voice and sings poignant, funny and some "typical" country sounds. Recording quality is very good.
