MuSo Still Randomly switching Input Sources after Update

Posted by: shagghie on 26 June 2015

Was hoping the new firmware might fix this, so now I'm wondering if we have a defective unit. Anyone else experience the MuSo switching off of the Optical input on it's own, or worse, going through a constant 'rapid cycle' of all the input sources in a loop?

So far to troubleshoot I've tried:

1) updating to latest firmware

2) power cycling the unit

3) shutting off all mobile NAIM apps to rule out a bug in the app

4) Changing to a different (and also WPA2 secured) Wireless signal to rule out tom-foolery

5) swapping out optical cables (3 different cables)

6) taking batteries out of the NAIM remote control to rule out a stuck button

7) going through various settings on the NAIM to rule out any software bugs associated with them

Anyone else still experiencing this, and/or have any further troubleshooting suggestions?  I'm willing to role back to an even older firmware and/or a beta firmware release if it fixes this one issue, as the unit has become all but useless to us while watching TV via optical input, or trying to listen to NAIM internet radio, etc. It is very random, happens a dozen times a day, and has my wife ready to throw it out the window.

Thanks in advance!

The only real problem I had was with the optical input switching off temporarily. That stopped with the new firmware. I use Spotify a lot on the Muso with various iDevices, often switching between them and have found the integration between the products to be very good and absolutely stable. I also actually use the Naim control app a lot more now and that also works effectively. Don't really use the radio but as far as I can tell that's fine also. Sounds like a problem with your specific unit.

Hi,

Can you tell me whether you have contacted anyone here at Naim about this issue? It's not one that I remember having passed across my desk...

Obviously we can only try to fix issues that we are aware about so if you can contact us on support@naimaudio.com (as per the sticky at the top of each forum) then maybe we can try to find out what the issue is...

Cheers

Ah mistaken identity on my part.  Paul posted somewhere that someone in the support team had been on holiday and I thought it was you.  Obviously not!
