Can a Sonos network see music stored on a HDX / UnitServe?

As above really - I want to use a Sonos system for easy & cost-effective multi-room, but want better SQ in the living room than I reckon I'd get by plugging in a ZP90 into a Supernait, so am considering a HDX or UnitiServe.

I have an HDX-SSD and a Sonos (which I was using before I got the HDX). I haven't managed to get them to work together. It was suggested that if I selected Rhapsody support in the advanced preferences of the Sonos, the HDX would serve up the files but this hasn't worked for me. I could point the Sonos in the direction of the HDX's Musicstore share but am reluctant to do so in case it gets corrupted.

I really don't see how pointing the Sonos at the HDX's musicstore could corrupt it. It's just going to try to read files from there and either it will be able to or it won't be able to.  As the HDX is a upnp compliant music server, it ought to work just fine.

BTW I have a ZP90 plugged digitally into my SN and I'm very happy with the sound quality.  I would dearly love to see how much better an NDX is, if I had £3k spare but as I don't, luckily the sound from the ZP90/SN DAC is good enough for it not to trouble me.
