Dear All,
I am looking for an interesting car and thought i had found a decent Porsche 911 993.
FSH, fabulous condition for age, great opportunity to buy a great 911 etc etc.
So arrive car on forecourt. Took a few seconds to realise it was a garden shed. Rear 3/4 drivers side crappy potty putty respray with peeling paint. Rust around rear window. Grit blasted front with touch up paint on some of the more impressive chips and scratches.
So i took less than 5 minutes to conclude total heap.
Still i had a nice drive into Norfolk/Suffolk coutryside and had a cup of coffee and sticky bun.
I just wish people would tell you how the car is really.
I know i know a fool and his money are easily parted.
So still looking for an interesting fun car.

nice to saee the spin from the Porsche Dealers PR agency
The correct thread title should be about honesty in selling or advertising cars not in buying.

A friend had a thing for Alfas and knew how to fix them up. He bought an Alfa Milano that had sat for 10 years at a repair place. He ended up spending 2-3 times what he thought replacing things. Eventually he had to sell it and I sold him my '04 Focus, he just loves it. After tighter springs and shocks it handles as well as the Alfa. Just wishes it had been a stick. But now he has electric windows, doors and AC that works.
Getting a fun car that's reliable is the main thing unless you like fixing mechanicals.
Yes people should be more honest about condition of cars but human nature is to off load junk and stuff the other guy.

went to look at a Honda 2000.
read all the blurb on it, looked at the numerous photos.
So off i toddled.
As soon as i looked at the fabric roof i realised it was about to fall to pieces. Two tears in it on both sides.
So off home i went
