Illegal again to Copy Music in UK!
Posted by: Robd67 on 17 July 2015
Just read the High Court have overturned the Governments 2014 Legislation on copying music/video for private use.
Can't see how it will be enforced and how will it effect products like Unitiserve?
Apparently it is unlawful, illegal, against the law to drive a car in France without a breathalyser kit since about 2013. No-one has ever been charged or any prosecutions made. A common sense approach to stupidly implemented law...... so far.
They are quite nifty those breathalysers - I keep a couple in the boot now. Also in France its against the law to not have a yellow (for road) high visibility vest for all the occupants of the car in case it breaks down and the occupants need to stand on the side of the road.
Hmm perhaps lorry drivers might need to keep one or two spare just in case they are carrying some unplanned guests if heading for the UK .... best not break the law.

Yes, as most of my previous trips to France have seen me not even bother with a GB sticker, I decided I was pushing my luck and bought a kit from Halfords with a sticker, breathalyser and a pair of hi viz jackets. The only thing I didn't bother with was adjusting the lights, not that I would know how, or putting on stickers. However, my latest vehicle allows you to simply inverse the dipped lighting for the Continent.
F*ck 'em. I've paid for all my music. As long as i don't sell all my ripped CDs then i'll do what i like with them
100% James. WGAF. It's an unworkable law that can't be reasonably enforced. I won't be losing any sleep over it.

Totally, I have bought probably five or six different versions and formats of almost all my favourite music. There comes a point where commercial turns to greed

My thinking all along. What I don't understand is why you guys are even discussing the issue? It's a none issue. Too much time to spare?
Unless of course you feel one needs to abide by every law in the land. Now, where would be the fun in that?

A bit less now because I read your post on the topic
I just lost 5 minutes of my life, trying to type replies on a bloody iPad!

Same here. I wonder how many of us as a result of this ludicrous ruling will stop ripping our CDs and vinyl? All those NAS', now illegal for streaming music...
